Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the (soon to be) Hughes Party of 7
It has been a crazy 30 days in our Adoption Journey… it was just a month ago that we were “matched” – that is – our family received a referral to adopt a little boy from Burundi Africa. A little boy with a name, a picture, a (very brief) medical history, and a STORY. His life is now intertwined with ours… and our hearts are both excited and heavy as we wait to bring him home, (estimated time is 6-9 months).
We bring two requests/praises to you today:
First, please pray for the country of Burundi. This is a country with a tumultuous history filled with revolutions and genocide. Tensions heated up again recently with hundreds of people killed, and hundreds of THOUSANDS of individuals and families fleeing to neighboring countries as refugees. Burundi needs peace and stability, and we pray God would show His favor to these people. Please join us in asking this of the Lord.
Secondly, have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of financial support for our adoption these last 12 months. Between our personal savings and donations received through Lifesong, we have reached roughly 60% of the need as we move through the final phases of the adoption. Thank you SO much for your prayers and tangible financial support; you can’t know how much it has meant to us.
We know folks are often looking for worthy causes for “Year End Giving,” and as 2015 is concluding, we hope you might consider the adoption as a giving opportunity for your family. If you would like to financially partner with us to help bring this little boy home, the process is simple, (and note that all donations are Tax Deductible):
2. Fill in your Donation Amount
3. Make sure your “Gift Preference” is indicated as ADOPTION FUNDING
4. Make sure your “Adoption Gift Preference” is indicated as FAMILY SPECIFIC
5. Under “Family Account Number” please type: 4957
6. Under “Family Name” please type HUGHES
We will keep everyone updated as our adoption journey continues. May God bless ALL of us with more knowledge of His great Love for us, through His Son.
Blessings –
The Hughes Family
